10th Anniversary Issue of IJSS

The latest issue of the International Journal for the Study of Skepticism is a double special issue that celebrates the 10th anniversary of the journal. It combines papers dealing with historical figuresGorgias, Plato, Sextus Empiricus, and Isabelle de Charrière—with papers offering systematic discussions of issues in epistemology, ethics, and the philosophy of religion. Special Issue on Skepticism

A special issue on skepticism, edited by Jan Willem Wieland, has just been published in the Dutch journal Algemeen Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Wijsbegeerte (108/1, 2016). You can find the papers (all in Dutch) here. The translation of the title of my own paper, originally written in English, is “The Practical and Epistemic Value of Pyrrhonism.”

Elenchos Issue on Sextus

Volume 13 (1992) of the Italian journal Elenchos was devoted to the proceedings of the international conference "Sesto Empirico e la storia del pensiero antico," which took place in Rome in 1991. The good news is that this issue is now available for free here. (Thanks to Emidio Spinelli for the information.) I highly recommend that you read at least the articles by Annas, Decleva Caizzi, Ioppolo, and Sedley.

New Papers on Hume's Skepticism

Issue 52 (2011) of the Spanish journal Δαιμων. Revista Internacional de Filosofía is devoted to Hume. There are at least four papers dealing with his skepticism, among which is Chris Laursen's "David Hume on Custom and Habit and Living with Skepticism." The PDF files of this issue are not yet available on the journal's website, but you can take a look at the table of contents here.

Philosophy East & West

A couple of months ago, and thanks to Richard Garner, I found out about a special issue on skepticism in the journal Philosophy East and West 27 (1977). Particularly interesting is Garner's “Skepticism, Ordinary Language, and Zen Buddhism.” The issue can be found here.
